Thrifty Thursday: Skirt Suit
Happy Thursday! Checking in today with, financially speaking, one of my best thrift buys ever in this navy Antonio Melani skirt suit. It is tough to find a good looking suit that fits well even in a department store, so I felt like I’d won the lottery when I found this treasure for $10. It is truly the best fitting suit I’ve ever had.
Even better, because I didn’t pay much for it, I was willing to test my luck with the washing machine in spite of the dry clean only recommendation. Everybody has personal causes in their life, and one that I feel passionately about is not dry cleaning. You can often find me crouched in front of the washing machine googling things like “do you REALLY have to dry clean velvet if it is 80% polyester?” It’s pretty shocking how often it works out just fine. I finally found my dry cleaning soulmate in a very kind man who runs the dry cleaner near my office. I bring him items, he tells me how likely it is I’ll destroy them, and then he usually fixes them when it doesn’t go well. I love him forever.
