Thrifty: Geometric Vintage Dress
The Outfit: I found this gem at Goodwill about a year ago, and the bright retro pattern immediately caught my eye. The fabric is so fun and festive- it looks like a party is happening on the fabric. I was sold before I even noticed the pleated skirt and ruffle collar.
I knew this one was a little bit out there, but 'out there' is kind of my jam. What surprised me, though, is how many compliments I get on this dress. I get more comments on it than almost anything else I wear. Even people who are grossed out by my Goodwill fetish don't shop thrift stores have unknowingly complimented this dress. Obviously I was very gracious said "neener neener hater, this is from Goodwill."
Cost: $8
Vintage: 1980s?
Time: wash, hang to dry. Though I did notice a hole in the side tonight, after having worn it all day (#facepalm), so I'll need to pencil in some time for mending.
Accessories: tassel heels from Ann Taylor (sale), earrings from Kendra Scott via Nordstrom Rack
Between the party dress and tassel shoes, I pretty much tra-la-la'd through the entire day.
Toodles! TLO
