Home: A Surprise at 'the Gutter'
A few months ago, Noah and I bought a new rental property that I’ve affectionately dubbed ‘the Gutter’ due to the fact that… it needs to be completely and thoroughly gutted. It’s in pretty rough shape, but the location is great and it has lots of potential if you cross your eyes and squint... hard. It needs attention. It needs love. But most of all, it needs air conditioning, walls, ceilings, a kitchen, and better support in the basement. We have it on a 1-year plan and will not be breaking any land speed records getting this baby rented. So buckle up.
On demo day Noah texted me excitedly when he ripped out the old kitchen because after a decade of renovating together, he knows that important life events for me are ranked as follows, in descending order of excitement:
- Obligatory 'days our children were born'
- Discovering original brickword that we can expose
- Our wedding day, etc. etc.
We have a loooong way to go, but I can't wait to work these bricks into the new kitchen design!
Toodles! TLO
